Jake Colvin

ColvinJake Colvin is Executive Director of the Global Innovation Forum and Vice President for Global Trade Issues at the National Foreign Trade Council (NFTC).

Through the Global Innovation Forum, Mr. Colvin works with startup, business, education and nonprofit leaders to explore the opportunities and challenges associated with participating in the global marketplace in the digital age, and to assess the impacts of public policies on international trade and innovation. At NFTC, a business association which promotes an open, rules-based global economy on behalf of companies including GE, Google, Johnson & Johnson, Microsoft and Wal-Mart Stores, Mr. Colvin encourages public policies that facilitate international trade, business travel and diplomacy. He leads the Council’s efforts to promote trade policy solutions to climate change, directs a project dedicated to modernizing global trade rules through the WTO, and is spearheading an initiative to emphasize the commercial significance of global flows of data.

Mr. Colvin holds an M.A. in International Economics from Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies, and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Richmond.
