James Flett

James Flett is deputy to the Director of the European Commission Legal Service WTO Team. He has been practicing international trade law for 25 years, having spent several years working for two international law firms, before joining the Commission Legal Service in 1995, when the WTO was founded. He has represented the EU in 170 WTO proceedings. He teaches WTO law at Leuven University, and has been a frequent guest lecturer at more than a dozen other leading universities. He regularly speaks at international conferences on WTO law and has published widely on the subject.
